                                                                                       Tradition connects!

tl_files/walloschke/Wandbild 1 1.jpgA size steeped in tradition in the centre of Hannover for more than 50 years! Since the first first beginning on 18th June 1952 it is unimaginable that one day this address and tradition of Max Walloschke would not be alive anymore! It became an important part of Hannover's history and gastronomy around the Steintor! We connect the current and future requirements with our history steeped in tradition, and our guests appreciate this!

                                                                                     The History

tl_files/walloschke/Kneipe_1.jpgIf the Eisbein-Boogie has reached to the performance, unfortunately, we cannot clear at this point finally. Presumably someone knows closer about that in the jazz club. If nothing acts, however, at the moment it aint that important, because it is less about art than around the meat. Only that we do not misunderstand ourselves: We're talking not about any piece of meat, no x any shred or even a very delicate fillet. No, we talk about pork knuckle. With sauerkraut. And substantially mustard.

Vibraphonist Lionel Hampton - one of the prominent jazz musicians of the last century - has lent the special mark to this essentially German, substantial speciality literally. It was in an evening in 1974 at "Max Walloschke" when the American discovered his love to this marvellous food. Promptly he took the the pencil, and because no sheet of paper was to the hand, he scrawled the marks for the "Eisbein-Boogie" on the napkin.

The next day - a genius forgets nothing - he put down the first tacts on the golden book of the city of Hannover. From now on it was official: The pork knuckle with "Max Walloschke" is world-famous! Even the bar itself is probably world-famous. There is, in any case, a whole row of habitués who have used the Cebit days for an excursion in the pork knuckle paradise. The gurgling Japanese who have taken a photo of themselves before her plates. Indian programmers, American Chip-Guys, mobile phone manufacturers from China, informatic students from Namibia, hostesses from Sweden - everyone finds Walloschkes pork knuckle world-first-class.  Till today "Max Walloschke" added many delicious and typical german dishes to the menue. In germany the kind of food is called "gut bürglerich" which describes the traditional kind of german food. For lunch time Max Walloschke has special offers and changing dishes.

Welcome and have a good meal!
